Alto’s Adventure

It’s hard to believe that on this day, 7 years ago, Alto made his first leap onto the devices of players all around the globe. Looking back on the morning of the release, it’s funny to think that we were so surprised by other people sharing the news, we almost forgot to announce it ourselves. Years later, we continue to be pleasantly surprised and humbled by the support of the Alto community throughout this journey.

Though there has been a lot of change to the world in the past few years, we are grateful to be able to continue to develop and create opportunities for you to explore the Alto series in new and exciting ways. This is all possible because of the support we receive from our amazing community of players, collaborators and team members.

Since this first Alto release, one good thing kept leading to another and before we knew it, we were able to release Alto’s Odyssey in 2018, expand both titles to PC and console in 2020 and create an exciting new merch collection to bring a little bit of adventure to the homes of players everywhere.

In 2021, we grew even closer with the Alto community on Discord and got to share special moments digging up gems during a Q&A with Team Alto and bonding over our love for beautiful, meditative games. In July of 2021, we launched Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City on Apple Arcade — Alto’s debut onto this service.

The Lost City

This special edition of Alto’s Odyssey offers players an opportunity to join Alto and friends on a new journey to uncover the best-kept secret of the endless desert. The game reveals even more surprises and challenges to master leaving plenty to discover for even the most seasoned player.

Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City

While developing The Lost City, we had a chance to continue to work with one of our favourite musical collaborators, Todd Baker. Todd created a beautiful, original soundtrack to help immerse players into this new biome and you can read more about his process here. The Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City Original Game Soundtrack can be streamed through your preferred platform or purchased via Apple Music and Bandcamp.

From Alto’s World To Yours

From today until February, 22nd at midnight EST, comment what Alto means to you (below the social post you found this on) to win an Alto prize-pack! By sharing a few words about your experience with any of the Alto games, you could be the proud new owner of a pack of mini prints, an Alto llama pin and a copy of both Alto games on your platform of choice.

Preorder Alto’s Leaping Lemurs!

In 2017, The Snowman Store gained 100 little llama friends. Alto’s Lost Llamas were created by Germany-based artist, Anika Brenner (aka Zimt) and were based on needle felt fan art she originally made just for fun! When we saw that first llama, we knew that members of our community would love to have one in their lives. They went over so well that we sold out!

Now, we bring you limited-edition, handmade lemurs that you can preorder ahead of their arrival date (to be announced soon). Inspired by the mischievous lemurs found in Alto’s Odyssey, Anika has brought these creatures to life through the process of needle felting again, even including moveable limbs.

You can now preorder your lemur from The Snowman Store. Don’t wait too long though, there are only 25!

Because of you, our wonderful community, we are inspired to keep dreaming up new adventures for Alto to embark on. Thank you for helping us celebrate 7 years and here’s to plenty more.

Yours truly,

Team Alto
