8 Years of Alto’s Adventure
We’re celebrating another year of Alto and friends with a fan art contest!
It’s been 8 incredible years since Alto and the gang first hit the slopes in the original game that started it all! As we reflect on another year of adventures, we can’t help but be overwhelmed with gratitude for the unwavering support we’ve received from our players and collaborators since day one.
When Alto’s Adventure was first released in 2015, we were blown away to see how quickly players from around the globe fell in love with the endless snowboarding odyssey. We’ll never forget the feeling of waking up on launch day to the support of excited players on Twitter.
Since then, our wonderful community has grown and made it possible for Alto to embark on an epic sandboarding journey in Alto’s Odyssey and later the remastered version, Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City on Apple Arcade.
We then ventured even further into the mountains to uncover new secrets, challenges and friends in another Apple Arcade exclusive, Alto’s Adventure: The Spirit of the Mountain. In this updated version of the original game, players are given a new way to explore the snowy alps through a variety of exclusive features including a brand new character, Pitu, and a whole new series of Lost Goals.
While developing the concept for The Spirit of the Mountain, we wanted to ensure that we could capture the unique sounds of Pitu’s journey while still evoking the same energy of the original game. We jumped at the opportunity to work with musician and longtime collaborator, Todd Baker, who previously lent his talents to the music of The Lost City and the original Alto’s Odyssey. We knew he would be the perfect person to convey the magic of the environment through an all-new soundscape.
On that note, the official soundtrack of Alto’s Adventure: The Spirit of the Mountain is coming to your favourite streaming platforms soon. We can’t wait for you to experience the calming sounds of the mountains everywhere you go!
Throughout the years, it’s been so rewarding to watch the world of Alto take on new meaning through our communities’ Alto-inspired artworks. Receiving these truly makes our day and inspires us to continue doing what we do. As a result, we’re celebrating this milestone with a very special fan art contest!
From now until Friday, March 3rd at midnight EST, share your original Alto-inspired fan art to have a chance to win a limited edition Alto’s Leaping Lemur.
Handmade by Germany-based artist Anika Brenner (aka Zimt), these mischievous lemurs were carefully crafted using soft wool and wireframes through the process of needle felting. From the tips of their fluffy ears to the ends of their bendy, striped tails, Anika has brought each lemur to life with thousands of tiny pokes and a lot of love.
Be sure to use the hashtags #Altos8thAnniversary and #AltoFanArt when posting your artwork on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. We’re excited to see all of your amazing creations!
With another year of adventures on the horizon, we want to take this time to thank our amazing community for continuing to support all things Alto! None of this would be possible without you and we can’t wait to keep dreaming up new possibilities together.
Yours truly,
Team Alto
