Year after year, we find ourselves in complete awe of the incredible lineup of games that are released and 2024 was definitely one for the books. We’re lucky to share this space with so many talented creatives and want to take the time to highlight the games that have stuck with us over the past year.

Beyond our list, there are countless games waiting to be discovered and we encourage you to continue to explore! We’re excited to see what’s around the corner in 2025.

Botany Manor

This past April, our talented friends at Balloon Studios released their debut title, Botany Manor, and our team has been loving it!

In this game, you’ll take on the role of Arabella Greene, a retired botanist and the manor’s current resident. Exploring the manor’s lush gardens, you’ll delve into Arabella’s research, uncovering the ideal environments for various rare and forgotten flora.

Botany Manor is great for players interested in cozy, casual gaming experiences paired perfectly with investigative exploration and brain-teasing puzzles. We’re so proud of the team for bringing life to such a wonderful game!

Balatro

If you’re someone who enjoys interesting takes on roguelikes, Balatro is definitely one to check out.

In this poker-inspired roguelike deck builder, every move dramatically alters the course of your run. Using powerful tools including Decks, Tarot cards, Planet cards and more, you create exciting combos that supercharge your hand as you aim to achieve the ultimate poker synergy.

It’s no wonder this game won three categories in The Game Awards 2024 in Best Debut Indie Game, Best Independent Game and Best Mobile Game!

Honey Grove

Honey Grove, by our good friends at Runaway Play, is a cozy gardening and farming game where you’re tasked with reviving a charming woodland village into your very own garden paradise.

Along the way, you’ll meet a number of bees with their own unique personalities and talents, expanding your team with fellow gardeners, explorers and everything in between. It’s the perfect game to get cozy and keep warm over the holidays.

“As someone who has spent many hours playing games like Ooblets, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Stardew Valley and more, Honey Grove felt like the perfect addition to my cozy collection. I look forward to escaping into its whimsical environment during my morning commutes!”

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure

We’re always drawn to games that take simple mechanics and add a creative twist and, this year, Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure truly captured our attention.

Following Jemma’s journey to self-discovery, you’ll leave behind the comforts of her hometown and venture into a world ruled by fear and a strange, immovable ‘static’ force.

By navigating through a world built from an interconnected grid, players have the ability to seamlessly blend movement, exploration and combat. With every step, Jemma shifts the tiles around her, introducing a chaotic yet playful twist to a series of engaging puzzles.

Thank Goodness You’re Here

UK-based studio Coal Supper’s latest release, Thank Goodness You’re Here, is a comedy slapformer where you play as a traveling salesman in the Northern English town of Barnsworth. As you complete odd jobs around town, you’re introduced to more challenges that bring you closer to meeting with the mayor as time runs out.

“Thank Goodness You’re Here was pure joy from start to finish. The quirky humor, fully voiced dialogue and eccentric characters made every task around town a hilarious and unforgettable experience! This game is definitely one that I’ll be replaying in the near future.”

Along with the game’s vibrant hand-drawn animations, our team really enjoyed its charming humour, making the town of Barnsworth one we won’t soon forget.

Monument Valley 3

The Monument Valley series is one that many of us hold near and dear to our hearts so when it was announced that Monument Valley 3 would be coming to Netflix, we couldn’t help but celebrate.

In the third iteration of the series, you’ll set sail and explore a whole new set of expansive world puzzles. As the world’s light starts to fade and water begins to rise, you’re tasked with finding a new source of power to ensure that your community isn’t lost in the waves forever.

“Only a few minutes into Monument Valley 3 and already feel the nostalgia rushing in. In many ways, Monument Valley paved the way for premium indie mobile games at a time when we were just getting our feet off the ground at Snowman. Really looking forward to playing through the rest of it over the holiday break. The artwork so far is stunning.”

ustwo games also released an accompanying animated short in Monument Valley 3: The Lighthouse. It’s a beautifully crafted short that follows main character Sula as she embarks on a journey through a mystical island and is truly a work of art on its own.

As we get ready for the holidays, we want to take a moment to send our deepest thanks to everyone for sticking with us in 2024. Wishing you all a warm and restful holiday season and all the best in the new year!

Yours truly,

The Snowman Team
